Other Competitions
From time to time we participate in inter-club competitions; and we belong to two organisations which organise annual competitions:
The LCPU is the umbrella organisation for photographic clubs in the old counties of Lancashire and Cheshire. The rules are reviewed regularly:
• for prints, maximum mount size 50x40cms (no minimum size), and some might be chosen for folio which circulates between clubs (but only 50x40cm mounts will be included in a folio)
• digital files should be 1400x1050pixels in sRGB colour space
Any member can enter but must do so through their club. Clubs submit these entries in April, so members are usually asked to bring their entries in March.
The ICPA (Inter-Club Photographic Alliance) is a group of about 16 local clubs. Clubs can enter a maximum of 10 colour prints (in 50x40cm mounts), 10 monochrome prints (in 50x40cm mounts), and 10 digital images (same rules as LCPU) in the ICPA annual competition in June each year.
Also the LCPU and ICPA also have digital projected image knock-out competitions – our club submits an entry to these each year.
